3. Submit and revise

How to submit

You can submit to most Sean Institute journals using an online system. The system you use will depend on the journal.

• Follow the "Submit Your Paper" link on the homepage of your newspaper. You will be taken to the appropriate device and asked to log in.
• When you are first using the device, follow the login instructions if you are here, register.
• When you are in the queue, you will be directed through the process of submission.
• Upon completion of your submission, you will receive an email with a reference number which you will use to confirm your submission status.
• If, as a result of the peer review process, you need to submit a revised paper, you will also do this within the submission system.

Peer review

The editor of the journal will make the first decision on your application. If the article is appropriate, the editor may submit your manuscript to one or more reviewers-specialists in your field. The peer-review process serves as a filter to ensure that only good research is written, and increases the consistency of the study submitted for publication by encouraging reviewers to recommend changes. Revision

If your paper is not accepted, you will likely be asked to amend it. Taking into account the professional perspectives of the readers and editor, you will have the potential to improve your article. This is a chance to distill an even enhanced edition of your paper, so make the best of the invitation. You'll even be able to respond to customer suggestions and show you've made changes or disagree with the advice. Try to do so with dignity, and be able to justify your views.

Open access: your choice

Choosing an open-access journal is simple: with more than 270 gold open access journals, Sean Institute has a wide selection of titles, including journals that publish specific data, Learning tools, articles on learning analytics and learning methods, alternative article formats (such as videos), and specialized and broad-based journals. If there are specific journals you read that is not fully accessible, you still have options: our more than 1,950 journals are mixed, so you can choose to publish gold open access in them.

If you choose to publish a subscription article, we can still help you meet your grant’s open access requirements. All our journals offer a green free access option, meaning you can post a version of your article in a repository after an embargo so that people can access it freely. Article Transfer Service

The Article Transition Service is structured to ensure cleaner and more effective editorial operations. By forming families of related journals in separate academic fields, Sean Institute facilitates the seamless transfer of articles between journals. This helps editors to find and recommend a more fitting location for a manuscript and ensures writers don't have to go through the hassle of resubmitting, saving time and effort manually. If the move is post-reviewed, prior advice from the referees will travel with the manuscript to ensure the full benefit of the reviewers' inputs, so all parties benefit from the insights already shared.

Share research data

When submitting your article or your article revisions to a Sean Institute journal, Within the submission method, you can find strategies for exchanging your study results with your paper. You may, for example, upload the research data to Mendeley Data, connect to the research data stored in libraries or co-submit an article on data or methods. You should also provide visualizations of interactive data in your post. Check the guide for authors of the journal of your choice to see what solutions they support.
